It’s hard to believe, but the Backdrop of the Month is officially one year old! What started out as a concept has turned into a really fun series that I LOVE. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
For the October backdrop, I stuck to my roots and designed a backdrop to coordinate with Traditional Halloween Decorations. I’ve tried in the past to vary Halloween themes: like this Black and White Halloween Mantel (and last year’s Halloween Backdrop) and this Skeleton Social, but my heart remains loyal to the traditional orange and black Halloween.
While this backdrop is perfect for parties, photo-booths and dessert tables, I used it for my Halloween Mantel decor. I hung it with Command Strips (my most favorite product ever) in the center of mantel to serve as the focal point.
To it’s left I placed my DIY Halloween Sign and to its right I set a spooky skeleton hanging I found at Michaels. I then scattered the cutest felt pumpkins (also found at Michaels), a spooky garland and a black cauldron. I love how it turned out and feel ready for the holiday!

This backdrop is designed to be 28 inches wide and 35 inches tall, but can be scaled smaller for budgeting purposes.
I printed this at Alphagraphics at full scale, on 100 lb white glossy paper and it was $65 dollars, but there are LOTS of different options for printing. Make sure you check out this post to figure out what’s best for you:
