Ever since Amy Atlas popularized the infamous dessert table, backdrops are essential to parties, events and weddings.
They frame your table, help rid the area of dead space and often create a super duper wow factor. From large printed signs, to fringe garlands, to balloon walls, there are lots of ways to create a diy backdrop.
HOW TO USE GREENERY AS A DIY BACKDROP
I’ve designed loads of backdrops over the years, but my favorite are always simple, clean and end up being the easiest to create (like this one I created out of coffee filters).
I find that using an existing blank wall or fence usually works the best.
This particular DIY backdrop took all but 15 minutes and the best party, it cost under $10.00!!!
Head to your local grocery store or Trader Joes and grab a bundle or two of fresh greenery.
When you’re home, cut their stems and peel off any unwanted dead pieces.
Using washi tape, tape stems of your greenery up on the wall in some sort of shape/design or cohesive look.
This technique works great with flowers too, like in my Sunshine Party.
As always if you end up using this idea, I would love to see it! If you post on your social media sites use hashtag #lovetheday or just email the photos over.
I adore how this looks. So simple, but graphic and natural. I think I want that for my wall all the time!
What is washi tape?
