As many of you know, I was featured in the 2020 Michaels Holiday Lookbook! It was a HUGE honor and I’ve been working around the clock to get you all the tutorials and DIYS I made for the set.
Today I’m sharing how to make this ‘Oh Christmas Treats’ Vinyl Gift Box featured in the shot.
HOW TO CREATE A VINYL GIFT BOX FOR CHRISTMAS!
SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED
Love The Day Gingerbread Holiday Bundle (the peppermint templates & printables)!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOW TO PUT VINYL ON A GIFT BOX.
1. PURCHASE THE GINGERBREAD BUNDLE!
The first thing you’ll need to do is purchase the Love The Day Gingerbread Holiday Bundle from my printable and SVG shop!
This bundle will provide you with the ability to cut the vinyl with a Cricut Machine.
2. UPLOAD THE Oh Christmas Treats SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
The next step is to upload the Oh Christmas Treats SVG file to Cricut Design Space.
3. INSERT THE FILE INTO A NEW CANVAS
Insert the file onto your Canvas.
4. WELD THE WORDS!
Next ungroup the entire file, then merge ‘Oh Christmas’ together and then merge ‘Treats’ together!
5. PRESS MAKE IT & LET THE CRICUT DO ITS THING!
The file is designed to perfectly fit the 12′ box so you can let the machine go! All you need to do next is press MAKE IT and let your Cricut work its magic.
6. START WEEDING!!
Grab your weeding tool and start weeding the excess vinyl around both ‘Oh Christmas’ and ‘Treats’.
7. TRANSFER THE WORDS TO YOUR TRANSFER TAPE
Grab your transfer tape and transfer your weeded words onto it.
8. TRANSFER YOUR WORDS ONTO THE BOX
Once you’ve transferred the words onto the transfer tape, it’s time to the transfer those words onto your box!
TIP: Transfer using your fingers rather than a tool. I found it you press the tape too hard, the wood peels off with the tape!
9. FILL THE BOX!
Fill the box with your favorite Christmas treats!
And BAM!! You are finished! How easy was that? Easiest craft ever right?!
If you create this box, make sure to take a picture and tag me at @lovetheday on Instagram. I’d LOVE to feature you in my stories!
