DIY Luau Pool Party Invites by Fawn Prints on Love the Day

Hi friends! Rachel from Fawn Prints here with you today. With summer right around the corner, you’re bound to be throwing some fabulous summer parties. These luau pool party invites are a fun and unique way to invite your guests to your outdoor bash. The recipients will not only love being invited to your tropical soiree but they’ll love having a cute handmade summer decoration as well! Ready to make a few of your own? They’re fun and easy so let’s get started!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Wood pineapples – Wood Connection

Pattern paper

Acrylic paint

Foam brush

Mod Podge

Trace the opposite side of the pattern paper you’re using around the bottom half of the pineapple.

Cut out the pieces of paper after you’ve finished tracing all that you need. Set these pieces aside for a bit while you paint.

Paint the top and sides of the pineapple in colors of your choosing. There’s no need to paint the entire pineapple since the bottom half will be covered in paper.

Here are the tops and sides of the pineapples painted. Don’t you just love those bright and cheery tropical colors? Nothing says summer like a colorful pineapple!

Next apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the bottom half of the pineapple. Once the glue is applied, the trick is to use a thin, even coat with a foam paint brush. If you use too much glue, the paper will bubble and no one likes that!

Place your cut out paper to the wood and smooth out. Your paper will have a little bit of an overhang along the edges. Once the glue is dry, you can use a sanding block to sand the paper off the edges, blending it into the wood.

I am SO not a graphic designer so I use Canva to make a lot of my invites and graphics. It’s free and there are so many pre-made templates that will make designing an invite a breeze.

Finally, punch a hole in the corner of your invite and tie it around the top of the pineapple using bakers twine. And that’s it! Now you’re ready to deliver these cuties to all your guests. How could your luau not be incredible with these cheerful invitations setting the scene?!
