Felt Valentines Garland Tutorial by Lindi Haws of Love The Day

We are full swing in 2021 and I can’t help but look toward Valentine’s Day. It’s been a rough few weeks and this Felt Valentines Garland Tutorial will hopefully help turn everything around.

Valentine’s Day decorations can do that. Their bright colors, scallops and overwhelming numbers of hearts help to ease burdened souls and minds. They are just so happy.

Not that they can solve the world’s problems, but I personally feel like they can brighten an outlook.

With that being said, here’s a full tutorial and video of how to make a garland out of felt with the help of a Cricut Maker!

HOW TO MAKE A FELT VALENTINES GARLAND

SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED

Love The Day BE MINE Valentine Bundle (the scallop heart templates and/por printables)!

12X12 Felt Craft Sheets (I love these ones)

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FELT VALENTINE GARLAND

1. PURCHASE THE BE MINE BUNDLE!

The first thing you’ll need to do is purchase the Love The Day Be Mine Valentine Bundle from my printable and SVG shop!

This bundle will provide you with the ability to create the gingerbread garland with and without a Cricut Machine.

There is a pdf file of a printable version of the garland where you download and print the file on 110lb White Cardstock.

There is also a SVG file that allows those with a Cricut Machine to cut and layer the scallop heart garland with paper.

2. PRINT PRINTABLE OR UPLOAD THE PEPPERMINT SVG FILE TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE

The next step is to either print out the printable gingerbread pages or upload the SVG file to Cricut Design Space.

For those who are using the printable pages, print and being cutting the scallop heart garland and skip these Cricut steps!

3. INSERT THE FILE INTO A NEW CANVAS

Insert the scalloped heart garland into your canvas and ungroup the garland.

Make sure that the pennant banner and the punch holes in their top corners are ‘attached’.

4. PLACE FELT ON YOUR FABRIC GRIB MAT

Place the felt sheet on your Fabric Grib Mat.

5. PRESS MAKE IT & LET THE CRICUT DO ITS THING!

Resize the garland to meet your needs. Next all you need to do next is press MAKE IT and let your Cricut work its magic.

5. GLUE YOUR HEARTS ON YOUR PENNANT BANNERS

Grab your Tacky Glue and start gluing your hearts to the pennant banners. Start with the scallo hearts first.

Glue the scallop hearts onto the pennant banners and then the regular heart onto the scallop hearts.

Let dry.

5. MAKE SOME POM POMS

Grab your pom pom maker and make yourself a couple of yarn pom poms!

8. STRING YOUR GARLAND TOGETHER WITH TWINE

Grab your red and white twine and string your scalloped heart garland together. I use a needle to easily thread the garland and the pom poms!

And BAM!! You are finished! How easy was that? Easiest craft ever right?!
