Hi friends! It’s Laura from Destro Photography here and I am super excited to be contributing for Love The Day! Decorating a mantel is a fun and easy way to add a bit of holiday cheer to your home. I like to add colorful DIY pieces to keep it both budget friendly and add a personal touch. I absolutely love decorating for the holidays and as my first post I am sharing a fun and simple DIY Easter Mantel Decor.
When decorating, I usually start my mantel design with one fun DIY piece. Today I will be showing you how to make this cute framed bunny centerpiece – it is a quick and easy project and it only required a few supplies. Let’s begin, shall we?
DIY Easter Mantel Decor
What you will need:
- Laser Cut Wooden Frame
- Bunny wood cutout
- Paint
- Paint brushes
- Glue Gun
- Small Pom Poms (or embellishments of your choice)
It was love at first sight when I saw this 11×14 size laser cut wooden frame while shopping the aisles at Michaels one day. I had initially planned to paint it with one color but spontaneously decided to have fun with it and used three complementary colors.
The paint colors used were Martha Stewart Satin paint in Couscous, Cloud and Camellia Pink. (Note: if the colors are too bright for you then you can simply add some white paint to your mixture to make it more pastel.)
The cute bunny cut out was from the Target dollar spot, but you could easily use a cardboard or cardstock cutout, too!
When painting the frame I alternated the colors to make it look like an Easter egg swirl. So fun!!!
Next I painted the Bunny white and glued it to the frame. I then glued some cute little colorful pom poms to make a cute collar.
Lastly I added some string to the top of the frame to hang on the mantel. That’s it!
I simply added a few more pieces to coordinate with my centerpiece, including a DIY ribbon garland, painted eggs and a giant painted Easter egg. Then I repurposed old decor by spray painting a plastic bunny pink and added a pearl necklace.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter with family and friends. Thanks so much for visiting! You can see more of my DIY decor and mantel styling ideas over on my blog.
Pin it for later!
