If you follow me on Snapchat, you may have saw that I have been experimenting with the most amazing new toy. It’s a stamp machine by Silhouette (the Silhouette Mint) and it’s the best thing EVER! What is a stamp machine you ask?! I was curious myself. It’s hand-sized device that can turn any text, design, shape or even a photo into a totally unique custom stamp. So cool right?! So you can create stamps to match any of your party themes! Ohh the possibilities! As soon as I saw the potential, my mind went straight to parties and watermelon ideas. I’m such a sucker for Watermelon Parties and Watermelon Decorations.
Before getting to those ideas, I had to get my Mint working and stamps made. The first thing I did was watch this useful tutorial. I wanted to make sure I set my cute machine up right. As a graphic designer, my favorite thing about the Mint, is that I can turn my own designs (created in Illustrator) into stamps. They do, of course have a fabulous library of images, fonts and ideas you can use, but I love having the option of making my own. I decided to design two stamps: a square ‘You’re One In A MELON’ stamp and a row of watermelon slices stamp. Once they were designed, creating the stamp WAS SO EASY! I opened my png files in Mint Studio, chose what size of stamp to make and pressed the Mint button. Next thing I knew, my stamps were printed (one at a time). It took just minutes!
There are so many uses for custom stamps, but I wanted to show you how to use stamps in a party setting. The stamps I created were perfect for accents to my watermelon party decor. As always, I rely heavily on printables and paper decor in my parties so I designed a generic, fill-in watermelon invitation, blank party flags and favor tags, watermelon boxes (tutorial & printable coming soon) all which were stamped and spruced up with my adorable watermelon stamps!
I thought you may be interested in these printables and the stamp files, so I am offering them for free!
Please remember that these files are not for resell, but are for fellow crafters and DIY partyers who love to create. Don’t spoil the freebie fun for everyone else.
Also, if you use these printables or stamp files, make sure to upload them to social media and tag them with the hashtags #LTDprintables or #LTD crafts. I love seeing your creations!
