Hi there! Rachel from
Fawn here with you today and I’m excited to share with you these colorful and tropical party hats! No matter what part of the world you live in, you can bring the tropics into your little part of the planet with bright and colorful luau party decor. These party hats are just the thing to get your guests into that tropical vibe of summer. I don’t care how old you are, you’re getting a party hat!
These hats are a breeze to make and you can crank out several for all your guests in no time! I’m pretty sure that every occasion calls for a party hat, don’tcha think? Want to make some for yourself?
Let’s get started!
Supplies:
Pattern paper: I used the Summer Fun collection from Echo Park
Aqua tissue festooning
Adhesive
Cricut machine
Using your Cricut machine, cut out the word “Aloha”, a palm leaf and a party hat template.
Next, roll your hat template into a cone and secure it with adhesive. I’ve found that Zip Dry adhesive works best to secure the edges of the hat together but you could also use glue dots or any other type of glue that you like. A stapler also works in a pinch!
Now our hats are ready to be decorated!
Attach a palm leaf to the front of the party hat using glue and allow to dry.
Then, attach the word “aloha” on top of the palm leaf.
Cut a couple inches of tissue festooning and wrap it around the top of the hat. Tissue festooning can look a little wild after it’s attached so I trimmed it down a bit so it didn’t look so messy and crazy.
And there you have it! Won’t your guest love lounging by the pool in these luau party hats while dining on kalua pork and pineapple?! I know I would! 😉
Here are a few more looks at these fun hats. I especially love that adorable flamingo pattern. So cute! I love mixing and matching colors and patterns of paper to make festive hats. These colors are so perfect for summer.
So don those leis, put on your hula skirt and pop on that party hat. Let the luau begin! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Pin it for later!
