Alli here from Partyography! St. Patrick’s Day is only a couple weeks away! Whether you’re throwing a party or just want to make the holiday more festive for your kids, I’ve got an easy ST. PATRICK’S DAY CRAFT that will have you and your family feeling all the luck!
Over at Partyography, my two favorite things are decorating wooden cutlery and milk bottles! It’s such an effortless way to tie all your tableware together. For this project, I created washi tape rainbows and added them to forks and spoons, milk bottles and place cards. If I were creating a whole party, I probably would have made cupcake toppers, food labels and tags for the party favors! The opportunities are endless when it comes to washi tape.
To start I used this washi tape from Michaels and found some four-leaf clovers in the holiday section. I spray painted the four-leaf clovers gold because I wanted them to pop against the rainbow colors. If you can’t find four-leaf clovers, you could always use paper cutouts or stickers.
Then it’s as simple as lining each color of tape against the next to create the rainbow effect. I initially planned to use paint but once I found this tape, I knew I’d love the perfect lines!
For the wooden cutlery, I started with the red tape and then lined up each color of the rainbow after that. To finish it off, I glued a four-leaf clover onto each end.
For the milk bottles, I followed the same process but used a square adhesive to attach the four-leaf clover. You could also use glue or tape!
Finally, for the place cards, I used a 3.5 inch by 4 inch piece of thick white cardstock and folded it in half. Then I followed the same process and lined each color up against the last. I added a second row of red and orange for the place cards just to cover the white space. I used my Cricut to create the names but if you don’t have a cutting machine, you could always use permanent marker or a paint marker to write over the rainbow colors!
Washi tape is one of the easiest materials to work with and now you’ve got three different ways to use it for not only St. Patrick’s Day, but a rainbow or unicorn party as well!
If you’re throwing a St Patrick’s Day party and looking for the perfect party favor, be sure to check out these shamrock rainbow wands. Kids will love them and they match all your newly crafted rainbow tableware!
