Hi friends! It’s Laura from Destro Photography here and I am super excited to be contributing again for Love The Day! The holidays have quickly approached and it’s about time to start thinking about the upcoming New Year celebrations. I love to decorate my mantel for the holidays, including New Year’s Eve.
I hope that everyone starts the year off on a positive note and makes it their Best Year Yet! This year’s holiday mantel is fun and inspirational with a touch of glam. Today I will be showing you how to make this super cute DIY New Year’s Eve Countdown Banner for your New Year’s Eve Mantel – it is a quick and easy project requires only a few inexpensive supplies. Let’s begin, shall we?
What you will need to make the Countdown Banner:
- Black Polka Dot Paper (2 sheets, size 12×12)
- Shimmery Gold Paper (1 sheet, size 12×12)
- Mini Foam Adhesive Squares
- Twine or String
- Scissors
- Optional embellishments
I used my Cricut to cut out the stars and numbers, as well as the letters for my Best Year Yet sign. If you do not have a Cricut, you could also cut out and/or buy some stars as well as letter and number stickers. I found my cute shimmer and patterned paper at Michaels. The possibilities are endless!
Step One:
Cut out your stars and your numbers (1 through 10) for your Countdown Banner.
Step Two:
Next you will attach your numbers to the stars. I liked using the mini foam adhesive squares because they add a bit of dimension to the banner.
It should look like this when you are done attaching the numbers.
Step Three:
Lastly you will want to attach the banner to your string.
That’s it, super easy!!!
I love how it came out and I think my NYE guests will enjoy it, too!
Here is my New Year’s Eve Countdown Banner on this year’s New Year’s Eve Mantel. I included a Best Year Yet banner also made with my Cricut. I love the glamorous color combination of the black, white and metallics. And the trees are classic for the entire month of December so feel free to continue using them for your NYE celebrations.
Happy Holidays and New Year! Thanks so much for visiting! You can see more of my DIY decor and mantel styling ideas over on my blog.
