Hi friends, Alli here from Partyography! Today I’m excited to share this DIY wedding gift box idea. I’m not sure why but I have a slight obsession with location coordinates and maps when it comes to weddings and love stories. Of course location is one of the first things you decide when planning a wedding so I thought it’d be fun to incorporate into these gift boxes for your guests.
My favorite thing about these DIY wedding gift boxes is that you can customize them to any wedding colors or location. I like the kraft and monotone look but you could certainly use any colors you like. You could also use more than one location if there are two places that have meaning to the couple. Let’s get started!
Materials needed:
- Kraft gift boxes
- Kraft cardstock
- Printer
- Glue
- Scissors
- Ribbon (I used this polka dot ribbon)
- Cricut (optional)
- Square adhesives
Start by finding the location coordinates for the location you’d like to use. For these boxes I used
Scottsdale, AZ and this website to find the GPS coordinates. Once you have the coordinates, you can use whatever software you’re comfortable with to create the design.
I love this magnolia sky font so that’s what I used for the last name. You’ll want to leave space in the middle for your state cutout.
The boxes I used are 4 inches by 4 inches so I made my design just smaller than that so it had a border. Print and cut your design. (I had no problem printing onto kraft paper!)
Assemble your box and glue the square onto the top opening flap. You can also add ribbon at this time if you like! Next cutout your state or location you’ll be using. I used my Cricut to cut the state of Arizona and a little heart so I could mark Scottsdale on it.
I glued the heart onto the state and added it to the box with square adhesives. These little squares are my go to for making things pop!
I haven’t gotten married yet but I kind of love this idea for my own wedding some day! And what’s great is, whatever you decide on for favors, these boxes are a meaningful and affordable way to package up some treats or gifts for your guests!
