I know it may seem like it’s all about Christmas here and Love The Day, but really, I CANNOT WAIT for Thanksgiving! My whole family (all eighteen of us) are coming to Austin and I am making the whole Turkey-day spread. Like whoa?! Right? I’m super excited about it. In an effort to get the house prepped, I’ve been sprucing things up with Thanksgiving decor.
I decorated my mantel, but have been looking for something fabulous for my front door. I found this wreath by the adorable Lia Griffith on Pinterest and decided I had to have it! Lucky for me, a full video tutorial how to create the wreath is on Creativebug. I signed on, watched the brief video and went to work creating my own paper leaf wreath.
First of all, have you heard about Creativebug? It’s my new favorite site EVER. I met the Creativebug team this summer at the Michaels Makers Summit and have been converted ever since. They have loads and loads of classes to help you become the crafter you’ve always wanted to be (see the crafts I’ve made from this, this and this class)! They have classes for EVERYTHING! Watercolor, calligraphy, paper crafts, knitting, etc.. And my favorite thing about the classes are that they not only teach you the new skill or how to make the craft, but encourage you to experiment with your own esthetic or style. They teach you how to become makers!
Like with the wreath. Now I LOVE Lia’s version, but the color plum is not may favorite and I really, really like working with patterns. I took the class, but made the wreath my own and I love it so much! It’s GOLD!!!
