If you follow me on INSTAGRAM you heard all about my Nephew’s birthday party. I wish I could say everything went just as planned, but oh boy…the DIY Construction Party was a disaster!
The wind was insane and destroyed my whole table, my potty training niece decided it was the perfect time to regress and just as we were taking pictures of the cake, it totally fell to the ground. Like SMASH. Completed destroyed.
Luckily the kids thought it was all part of the construction theme and started to dig into the cake with their dump trucks. I was about to panic, but found the whole situation so hilarious that I sat back and watched the kids eat in delight.
The whole party was a really great reminder of what’s important. Sometimes it’s easy to get so carried away with what our events/parties look like that we forget about the memories we are making.
The kids thought the party was the best ever. They loved it! My nephew is still talking about it and that’s all that matters. For a full recap, head over to the Oriental Trading blog to read about it.
