I’m back with another craft from my Be Mine Valentine Bundle collection! Last week I shared Felt Valentines Garland Tutorial and today I’ll be share how to make a Valentine Paper Heart Wreath!
I love this craft because it shows how easy it is to decorate with paper! Paper is inexpensive and easy to work with. It’s my favorite medium to craft with!
This heart wreath look DARLING on your front door, your windows or on your kitchen cabinets. It’s perfectly festive and a really fun way to decorate for Valentine’s Day!
Let’s get started!
HOW TO MAKE A VALENTINE PAPER HEART WREATH
SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED
Love The Day BE MINE Valentine Bundle (the scallop heart templates and/por printables)!
12X12 Paper Sheets (2 dull red, 2 bright red, 2 sea glass, 2 turquoise, 2 dark pink, 2 light pink, 3 white)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER HEART WREATH
1. PURCHASE THE BE MINE BUNDLE!
The first thing you’ll need to do is purchase the Love The Day Be Mine Valentine Bundle from my printable and SVG shop!
This bundle will provide you with the ability to create the paper heart wreath with and without a Cricut Machine.
There is a pdf file of a printable version of the garland where you download and print the file on 110lb White Cardstock.
There is also a SVG file that allows those with a Cricut Machine to cut and layer the scallop heart garland with paper.
2. PRINT PRINTABLE OR UPLOAD THE MULTI COLOR HEARTS & SCALLOP GARLAND SVG FILES TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
The next step is to either print out the printable multi color hearts & scallop heart pages or upload the SVG files to Cricut Design Space.
For those who are using the printable pages, print and being cutting the scalloped and multi-colored hearts and skip these Cricut steps!
3. INSERT THE FILES INTO A NEW CANVAS
Insert the scalloped heart garland and multi-colored heart SVG files into your canvas and ungroup them.
Delete the pennant banners from your canvas because we won’t be needing them for this project.
Duplicate and resize multiple hearts. You’ll want hearts of all sizes and colors on your wreath!
4. PLACE PAPER ON YOUR MAT
Place the cardstock on your Mat (I like the LightGrip Mats).
5. PRESS MAKE IT & LET THE CRICUT DO ITS THING!
Next all you need to do next is press MAKE IT and let your Cricut work its magic.
6. LAYER YOUR HEARTS
Grab your Tombow Glue and start layering your hearts on top of each other. Start with the scalloped hearts first, then the regular hearts and finally the half hearts.
Let dry.
7. HOT GLUE THE LAYERED HEARTS TO THE WREATH BASE
Grab all your layered hearts and hot glue them to the wreath base!
TIP: lay your hearts out first to make sure the garland turns out exactly like you want. Also overlap and place your hearts in different direction to give your garland more visual interest.
5. MAKE SOME POM POMS
Grab your pom pom maker and make yourself a couple of yarn pom poms!
8. HOT GLUE THE POM POMS ON TOP OF THE WREATH/HEARTS
After you’ve made a handful of pom poms, hot glue them to your wreath! Fill in any gabs or holes exposing the wreath base.
And BAM!! You are finished! How easy was that? Easiest craft ever right?!
