I grew up in a home in which my mom decorated for every holiday and ensured we had special memories associated with each season. For Halloween we would make sider sugar cookies, boo our neighbors, take pictures at the pumpkin patch and decorate our mantel together. It was something I looked forward to every year and now try to emulate as a mom myself. Halloween traditions are my most favorite of the year!
I try to replicate all the memories above, but have added a few new traditions of my own. Every year we work together to create my costumes (did you see their Rodeo Queen costumes?) and then have a photo-shoot in their fun outfits. The girls love it!
In years past I have searched for ways to display these photos, but with the discovery of Create UR Plate I now print the photos from years past and display them around my house. I love the memories the plates bring back and my daughters love seeing the costumes we have created throughout the years. Not to mention my girls feel pretty fantastic about having a picture of themselves on plates! When Halloween rolls around, I plan on having a dinner with these plates and discussing what we loved about each of those particular Halloweens. I love that it showcases a tradition while creating a new one at the same time.
If you are interested in making this a tradition of your own, you can start creating your Halloween plates HERE.
