It’s a new year and time to share another challenge with Michael’s as one of their Michaels’ Makers! This month we were challenged not only to organize our craft room or creative space, but to also show it off! We each used tools and supplies purchased from Michael’s (they have loads of Craft Storage Systems) to help keep our craft goodies in order. And heaven knows I have an embarrassing amount of craft supplies to organize.
So….here is my office, or craft room. It’s my favorite room in my house because it’s bright and funky and contains all my favorite things! I love having all of my supplies where I can see them, so I built this peg board wall and hung a good portion of my supplies with brackets, wall hangs, and wire baskets on it. It’s convenient, fills the room with color, and helps me know what I have to work with.
The second aspect of this month’s challenge was to complete a project that has been on my ‘to-do’ list for awhile, or finish a ‘Craft Resolution.’ I loved this idea! It encouraged me to look at all the projects I’ve been meaning to do forever and actually sit down, plan one out and follow through. I choose to re-finish the landing area wall in my house. It’s the area between our two floors and has never look quite right. I have looked and looked for the perfect items to hang on the wall, but nothing seemed fit. Until, I found Cut It Out Frames! I loved the frames shapes, the large frame sizes and the ability to paint the frames to my liking. After paneling the bottom half of the landing wall, I painted and hung up my large frames. I designed a “throw kindness around like confetti) sign to fit in the largest frame (20X30), used a black and white photo of my husband and our two girls in one of the striped frames and in the last frame I hung a hand-drawn picture of our family by Marlies Designs (of which I am obsessed and will share lots more about later)! I think the wall still needs a bit more tweaking, but I’m one step closer to perfection!
Do you have a 2015 Craft Resolution? I would LOVE to hear about it! And for loads of inspiration, make sure to visit all the Michaels’ Makers posts to see what they are up to.
Oh I just love it!!! I look forward to the day I get my own craft room. It’s only forever away. 😉
I can’t wait till I can have a craft room.
