It’s been an emotional week for my family and I as we’ve watch the devastation and sorrow unravel in Japan. My brother is in Tokyo serving a two-year mission for our church and while he is safe, it’s hard being so far with little contact, not knowing how to help him or the lovely people of Japan. I figure the most productive thing I can do right now is participate in the For Japan With Love Blogger Day of Silence to help raise money for relief aid. If you have the time or chance, please visit the For Japan With Love site and make whatever contribution you can. Love The Day will be silent on Friday (no posts) to honor the people of Japan and my brother.
“All of the donations {For Japan, With Love} will go to ShelterBox, which provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.”
