It’s no surprise that I’m obsessed with Clever Neighbor Gift Ideas. Why are puns so fantastic!?
This SODA-LIGHTED YOU’RE MY NEIGHBOR and TWIZ THE SEASON GIFT TAGS are my absolute favorite.
There is something about a clever little phrase and a coordinating gift that makes my heart sing. I hope my neighbors and friends enjoy my attempts as much as I do!
It’s also no surprise that I AM IN LOVE with all things Cricut.
I’ve owned a machine since the Explore Air came out and I’ve been a fervent super fan ever since.
With their fabulous machines I’ve been able to create a DIY UNICORN BACKDROP, YOU TAKE THE CAKE PARTY HATS, a DIY HALLOWEEN GARLAND, MINI CANVAS BANNER and so much more.
This week I’ve paired my love for clever neighbor gifts and my Cricut Maker to make ‘You Bake Life Better’ cookie jars.
I used my fabulous new Cricut Maker for this project and love how it turned out. I think it’s the perfect little gift!
Here’s how I made them:

INSTRUCTIONS
The best part of this project is that I created the artwork in Design Space! No SVGs, no uploads, no images! This is one of my very favorite aspect of Design Space.
As you know, I am a graphic designer. I love that I can skip working in Illustrator and design directly in the Cricut Design Space. It saves me SO MUCH TIME.
For this project I used the text tool to write my clever ‘You Bake Life Better’ phrase. Each word was it’s own layer to begin with. I used fonts that I had purchased prior to the project. I also added two hearts with the shape tool.
Once everything was spaced perfectly, I welded all the layers together.
From there, I pressed Make It and sent my design to my Cricut Maker. I cut the file on vinyl.
After the file was cut, I weeded out the ‘white space’ in my design. I then placed transfer tape on top of my cut design and ran over the image a few times with a credit card to ensure the cutting stuck to the transfer tape. I unpeeled the transfer tape (with the phrase attached) and ‘transferred’ it to my darling cookie jar. I used my handy credit card once more to ensure the vinyl stuck to the jar. Lastly, I slowly peeled the transfer tape from the jar. Is there anything more rewarding then seeing a perfectly adhered vinyl?! I think not! I plan on filling the jar with my favorite Sprinkle Snicker Doodles and gifting them to all my neighbors!

I love how this turned out. Puns are also my favorite way to give gifts!
