*This SIMPLE FALL MANTEL IDEAS post is sponsored by Michaels, but my love for Michaels is real and abiding.
Happy happy Friday! Fall is in the are and I’ve been DYING to spruce up my mantel for the season. I finally had some time this week to work on it and headed to Michaels for inspiration and decor. Have you seen their  2017 Fall Collections.? I’m COMPLETELY OBSESSED. I mean…pink pumpkins? Yes please!
It was so refreshing to walk into Michaels and see non-traditional fall colors this year. As much as I love browns, deep oranges and greens, sometimes you just want to mix it up!
I’m all about the peaches, pinks, lime green and soft oranges and used that palette to create my mantel. I even threw in some gold! I love mantel decorating because there is no right way to do it, but I do have a few SIMPLE FALL MANTEL IDEAS to help your mantel look fantastic! Here are the things I always like to include when decorating a mantel:
- FLOWERS OR GREENERY – I prefer fresh flowers, but that is not always practical. For this fall mantel, I used three Assorted Mixed Dahlia Bouquet By Ashland®. I can’t get enough of the soft oranges and peach Dahlias!
- A MIXTURE OF HOMEMADE & STORE-BOUGHT – This is personal preference, but I love adding DIY touches to pretty much everything, especially mantels. For this mantel, I created the ‘In All Things Give Thanks’ sign and the Fall Banner. I made both with the help of my Cricut Maker.
- PATTERNS – I always like to incorporate a few different patterns to both my partyscapes and mantel decor. I think it helps focus the eye and create something interesting to look at. I incorporated the Striped Fabric Pumpkin, pattern paper in my FALL GARLAND and there is a slight pattern in the Leaf Welcome Sign.
- HEIGHT & LAYERS – This is a great tip for parties too, but I like to make sure my party spreads and mantels have LOTS of dimension. You don’t want everything to be the same height, size, and texture.
Have you decorated for fall yet? If so, send pictures my way! I’d love to see it.
And if you like these tips or ideas, make sure to pin them for later!
I love your mantle and how you used the soft green that seems to be so popular this year! I also prefer mixing homemade and store bought items in my decor as well. It’s a good way to decorate on a budget.
