Over the last few weeks I’ve had a lot of requests to start featuring weddings along with parties and showers. And since Love The Day was created to celebrate the most special days in our lives, weddings will be making more and more of an appearance on the blog. And to begin, the most delightful, happy 100% diy ribbon wedding by bride Jenny P. and found at This Is Our Life.
Here are the details described by the bride,
I spent a lot of time creating most of the decorations for our wedding. I cut over 80 yards of fabric for the ribbon streamers, bunting, chair detail and other fabric details. I also made runners for the tables. We also spent a lot of time hunting for vintage bottles and jars for our centerpieces and we also collected some vintage books for the centerpieces as well. We also found a vintage guestbook, and an old scale for our wedding cake. We spray painted old frames and made them into chalkboards. The table numbers and words were all decoupaged with origami paper and old books/music. We also made “yay” flags for the ceremony and also ribbon wands for the send off. We ordered all the flowers with the help of our wedding planner and did the flowers ourselves, we wanted a wildflower look so our arrangements included lavender, blue thistle, heather, anemone, Alstroemeria, sweet peas and lot of other yummy smelling flowers. We also painted and put together the frames that our escort cards/favors were held in. Just old frames with chicken wire stapled onto them, fabric streamers were stapled on the back and hung at the reception. We stuck the favors/escort cards into the chicken wire so people could find their names. The birds are those bird whistles – you fill them with water and blow into them and they chirp.
