A few weeks ago I shared my Whimsical Christmas Tree as part of the Michael’s Dream Tree Challenge. Have you seen all thirty trees yet? They are absolutely mind blowing! Check them out on The Glue String. I thought I would share a few of the diy Christmas decorations and products I used to create my grinch-like tree, including how to create a whimsical glittered ball garlands. Here’s what you need to create a whimsical Christmas tree:
Thick Tinsel Garland
Glittered Ball Garlands (I made the multi-colored garland shown below and purchased the green ball garland from Michaels)
Lots of glittery, spirally and whimsical sprigs
Loads of glitter Christmas balls in numerous sizes
Glittered Christmas Tree Ornaments
DIY Paper Ornaments
DIRECTIONS
Start with your thick tinsel garland and loop around your tree. Tuck deep into the tree limbs. Next string your glittered ball garlands (see tutorial below) around the tree. Tuck into the tree limbs. The sprigs are next! I typically start with the small sprigs first and move to the larger ones. Place them around your tree. Next take your Christmas balls and tuck into your tree branches. I don’t even hang them, I just set them on the branches. And lastly, the ornaments. I hang these on the branch tips ensuring they hang down and don’t get snagged in the branches.
