All my close friends know that March is totally my month. I love, love, love college basketball ( see my BASKETBALL PRINTABLE PARTY and my SLAM DUNK MILKSHAKE) and look forward to the Tournament every year. I spend my nights watching basketball and my days monitoring my bracket. I take great pride in filling it out and have even more joy and satisfaction when I do well. I have great hopes for this year! If you’re like me and are obsessed with March Madness, you may enjoy hosting viewing parties like I do. If so, I’ve put together a few basketball party ideas to help in your hosting efforts.
Any March Madness fan knows that it’s all about ‘the bracket.’ Why not print out (available in my shop) an over-sized bracket for you and your guest to fill out during the tournament? It serves as the perfect backdrop and a great way to get your guests into the games and interacting at the party.
I’m a sucker for paper decor and use them in all my parties (see my Oreo Cookie Ball Decorating Party or 4th of July Party). I always use my printable designs (see my Basketball Printable Party here), but also love filling the party area with tissue honeycomb poms, paper fans and paper lanterns. They help give the room dimension, texture and often-times pattern.
There is totally such a thing as sport food. It’s the delicious yummies you get at sports arenas or games that totally make your experience. Right? So when hosting a Basketball (or sports) party, it’s fun to serve food that is reminiscent of an arena or ball park. I chose to serve mixed nuts, popcorn, Gaterade, Mini Bagel Pizza Bites and Pizza Poppers by Annie’s. I chose the Bites & Poppers because they are so much more eye appealing than actually pizza and easier to eat. And they were a much healthier option with no artificial flavors or synthetic colors,100% real cheese from cows not treated with Rbst, uncured pepperoni – no nitrites or nitrates added. But the best part was their easy prep. Ten minutes in the oven and then done! Perfect party food!
