It’s here! It’s finally here! It’s the Michaels Makers Dream Tree Challenge Reveal day! Most of the other trees launched on November 1st, but since I decided to decorate my tree with the Michaels Exclusive Boho Collection (which launched earlier this month), my reveal date was extended.

I am SO, SO excited to share this Whimsical Boho Christmas Tree with you. I told my sister that I felt like this was the Christmas tree I was born to design! This Boho Line is what color-lover’s dreams are made of. It’s a perfect combination of bright and light pinks, various mint greens, dabs of orange and some turquoise blue. The color palette is just dreamy.  This tree was SUPER fun to decorate. I started with my tree, the 10 ft. Pre-lit North Valley Spruce Full Artificial Christmas Tree, Clear Lights. I loved the height and fulness of the tree, but knew that it needed to be white.

If you follow along on my Insta-Stories, you know that I decided to spray paint the tree. I’ve ALWAYS been curious to see if it would work and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to give it a try.

I used 10 cans of Rustoleum White Primer & Paint (Matte) and another 6 cans of Rustoleum White (Satin) to achieve my desired effect. I sprayed the tree in pieces inside my Home Right Paint Tent.

The number 1 tip I have for spray painting your tree, is it to spray the tree upside down! It helps cover the tree more than when you spray the tree right side up.
After the tree was dry, I moved it indoors and began decorating. When I decorate trees, I always start with what I call the base. It typically consists of large items like balls or in this case the giant felt light bulbs and garlands. The Bright Fabric Wall Garland provided the PERFECT base. It’s thick, chunky and has LOTS of texture.

I started with the Fabric Wall Garland and then added the Tinsel Ball Garlands, draping them around and up the tree.

I next added the Jumbo Bulb Wall Ornaments in pairs to the tree. The large bulbs serves as the focal point of the tree. They are my most favorite thing EVER! They are made from felt and are show incredibly showy.

From there, I spray painted various sized plastic ornaments millennial pink and added them to the tree. I continued from there added white round bulbs and other various ornaments from the Boho Line.

To top it off, I painted the Unfinished Star Wall Plaque and wired it to the top of the tree.

After finishing the tree, I move onto the mantel. As most of you know, my husband and I just finished ship-lapping our mantel and I’ve been SO, SO excited to started decorating it for the holiday.

Upon seeing the Wall-Mounted Plush Deer in the Boho Line, I KNEW that baby was coming home with me. I placed it in a painted embroidery hoop and hung it in the center of my mantel. 

I added LOADS of items from the BoHo Line and around the plush deer and whah-lah…. all done. I love how it turned out and can’t help but stare at my colorful creation throughout the day.
