Are you loving the Unicorn Party theme as much as I am? I’m not sure if you’ve been following along, but I’ve been sharing how to THROW A MAGICAL UNICORN PARTY with the help of a Cricut Explore Air 2 and the new Cricut Design Space. So far I’ve showed you how to make a HOW TO MAKE A UNICORN CAKE and today I’m going to show you how to Print and Cut with Cricut Explore Air 2. I used the print and cut feature to make this fun Pin The Horn On The Unicorn game (which is absolutely PERFECT for a unicorn party game).
While I’m showing how to print and cut, I’ll also be raving about some of my favorite new features to Cricut Design Space.
Before I get to explaining how to print and cut with Cricut Explore Air 2, I wanted to tell you where you can get this Pin On The Horn on The Unicorn game. I’m selling it on Etsy for $15 or you can get it for free by joining by email list. You can download it in the box below!
How To Print and Cut with Cricut Explore Air 2 & the NEW Cricut Design Space 3
Upload the image/SVG you want printed and cut. I wanted the horn from my Pin The Horn On the Unicorn Game printed and cut, so I uploaded the horn SVG to design space.
I LOVE the Design Space 3 updates. My favorite feature for this project is the ability to lock the size dimensions at the top & around the images. So helpful! Especially if you are looking to size multiple images on one mat.
I wanted my Unicorn Horn filled with a glitter pattern so I uploaded a gold glitter paper JPG. How you do it is press the ‘upload pattern’ button, rather than ‘upload image’ button and upload the pattern JPG. Once it’s uploaded it will go to your patterns folder.
Go back to your Canvas (how fabulous is it that the detach and weld are now in the sidebar?), click on the horn in your layers and click on the scissors. The Layer Attributes will come up and you’ll want to click on the ‘print’ button.
When you let Design Space know you are going to print this project, the option to fill with a pattern will pop up. Choose the gold glitter pattern you uploaded and fill your unicorn horn with the pattern.
Click the ‘Make It’ button. It will take you to the print screen (I’m loving the larger print then cut area with Design Space 3).
Set your project copies to 2 and arrange as you like (I love being able to arrange the images on the cutting/print mat…that’s new to Design Space 3 as well).
Print! Make sure to print at 100%. I like to print on heavy white cardstock (I use 110 lb).
Once it’s printed, send through your Cricut Machine and cut! Isn’t that dreamy?!
